PPE Relief Event: Volunteers Needed for Two Day Drive-Thru Event
In Orange County, the California Office of Emergency Services is partnering with OCMA/CMA to distribute medical grade PPE equipment to qualifying small and medium sized medical practices of 50 and under.
We are seeking General (Traffic & Check-in duties) and Loading volunteers for the two-day event on July 27 and July 28. Loading volunteers will need to be able to lift boxes approximately 45 lbs. Lunch and refreshments will be provided to volunteers. Volunteers will also be provided with PPE and safety gear to wear throughout the event. We are expecting in excess of 1,000 pickups over the 2-day event. Click here to view the volunteer shifts and how to sign up.
Orange County Food Bank
Until further notice, all volunteer opportunities are limited to the OC Food Bank. Additional shifts at our other sites will resume later this spring. Please note that masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer are available. We look forward to having you join us in making a difference.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County
In response to the pandemic, the Second Harvest Food Bank has enacted their food distribution crisis plan. The distribution model has been changed to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while still providing food for those in need.
Blood Donations Needed
There is an urgent need for blood donations as several blood drives have been cancelled due to COVID-19. Please consider contacting a blood donor: CHOC Children’s, UCI Health, Lifestream Blood Bank, the American Red Cross, and others.
