Initiatives

AAP-OC supports several critical initiatives to support children’s health in Orange County. We welcome volunteers.

Reach Out and Read is an evidence based model to promote early literacy and school readiness in the pediatric exam room by giving new books to children.

“No Child Hungry: Pediatricians Promoting Food Security” is an 18 month project funded by the National AAP to help eliminate hunger in Orange County.

Development screening helps parents and caregivers identify children with developmental risks.

From baby seats to teen driving, physicians care about the safety and well-being of our children.

The School Health Initiative strengthens connections between local pediatricians, schools, and community resources.

Early identification of risk factors and emerging health concerns play a critical role in meeting children’s health needs.
